Lake Keowee Real Estate Expert Blog Seller’s Market
It’s a great day around Lake Keowee! Clear skies, calm water, long views and plenty of buyers in the queue. It’s still cold outside but temperatures should climb into the 60’s over the next few days which will cue spring fever in many of us as we begin to obsess about spring and getting out on the lake. It should be another great year of property sales though the number of properties changing hands will be lower as fewer folks are willing to part with their little piece of heaven.
On the other hand, the value of those properties changing hands should be much greater. Homes that were selling in the $700K’s as recently as 2016 are now mostly over $1M (when you can find them). Lots that sold between $150,000 and $200,000 are now going between $250,000 and $300,000 (again, when you can find them). We have a few of each of those coming on the market over the next few months once the repairs are made and the lines are marked, etc. We expect that as we get further into spring, we’ll see more folks ready to take advantage of the seller’s market we are experiencing.
If you’re one of those owners ready to take full advantage of the current situation, you must let us know. We’ll get out and look at what you have, letting you know a the value and the types of things you may need to complete to get top dollar. Don’t be afraid to call, it’s what we do,,,and we do it well!
- How quickly do they get the information to you?
- Are they friendly and helpful?
- Or just pushy and hungry for a listing?
- Does this seem like someone you’d be interested in talking with?
If they aren’t organized and professional enough to respond promptly to your first request to find out more about them, they’ll probably handle potential buyers for your home the same way.
If you like the way they respond to you rand are impressed with the information they supply, invite them to make a listing presentation.
It’s always a good practice to meet with more than one potential agent before making a final decisions – usually three or so for sellers.
Just make sure that you don’t meet with more than one from the same company. This could cause internal strife which would be counterproductive in marketing your home.
