Getting a healthy taste of spring today around Lake Keowee as we break out of a long rainy spell. You can currently stand outside, peer up at the crystal blue skies, and listen to the birds sing all in 60-degree temperatures. In a word, magical. Heck, we were even able to enjoy a Clemson baseball weekend where the Tigers took the broom to Cincinnati over a 3 game set. They have the big set coming up this weekend for the annual Clemson v. South Carolina series. Should be a thrill ride!

To Lake Keowee real estate; we’ve been asking y’all to think hard about putting your Lake Keowee waterfront real estate on the market and you’ve been listening. Over the past two days we’ve gone out to check out 5 lots and 3 houses with the intent of potentially getting them on the market. Not everyone will list as they know they’ve got something special here on Lake Keowee, but we do expect several new listings to be hitting the market over the next couple of weeks. Another thrill ride!

Boy, do we need more listings as inventory is precariously low. So, here’s the same question, only phrased in the form of a statement: if you’ve been thinking about listing, now is the time. Trends to watch

Questionable projects include fireplace additions and installation of elaborate security systems. You can find professionals who will argue for and against both of these projects. But with concerns about home safety on the rise, security systems appear to be moving into the “desirable” column.

Many of these projects are relatively inexpensive and will easily pay for themselves. With some projects, you may no recoup your investment, but you will have removed impediments to a sale. If you don’t take care of things like leady plumbing, drafty windows or outdated light fixtures, you’re giving a buyer ammunition to use against you during negotiations.
