Keowee Expert Blog Sunshine Yea! Cold Eah?
The rain has finally gone away at least for a few days, but surprise surprise the warmth didn’t hang out for more than a cup of coffee. Now we will actually see 32 degrees in the deepest, darkest portions of tonight. Brrrrrrrr. Hopefully the potted plants we put outside and the many that are already starting to show blooms and buds will hunker down be fine until morning. Now is the time to order your mulch and get the yard ready for the oncoming growth spurt. It’ll be here before you know it and with all of this rain there will be plenty of growth.
It was a busy week only marginally hindered by the aforementioned rain. It’s difficult to realize how much of Lake Keowee real estate hinges on the weather. Nobody wants to see pictures of a beautiful home covered with fog and rain. Fortunately we were still able to put one of our new listings under contract and put another $850,000 property under contract. Just imagine what we’ll do when Mr. Blue Sky decides to stay for awhile!
I know we keep harping on this, but here it is again. Now is the time to get your property on the market if you are wanting to sell. Now. Not tomorrow, not next week, definitely not 2 months from today…now. The inventory of homes is low and if you want to maximize your dollars, jump in with both feet immediately and take full advantage of what the market is giving you right now! We’d be happy to meet with you and go over what you need to do to get your home or lot ready as well as give you some ideas on pricing based on your situation. Don’t delay, it will be sunny and warm very very soon!
Oh, I almost forgot (wanted to forget, but haven’t yet). Congratulations to the SC Gamecocks for taking the baseball series with Clemson for the first time in several years. They even put an exclamation point on it with a beat down on Sunday of something like 114 to 1 (I can’t seem to remember the actual score). And UNC beat the basketball Tigers by 2. REALLY, 2. Don’t get me started.
Again the quality of these materials will say a lot about the quality and the professionalism of the service they provide.
Also, pay attention to how they respond to your request.
- How quickly do they get the information to you?
- Are they friendly and helpful?
- Or just pushy and hungry for a listing?
- Does this seem like someone you’d be interested in talking with?
If they aren’t organized and professional enough to respond promptly to your first request to find out more about them, they’ll probably handle potential buyers for your home the same way.
If you like the way they respond to you and are impressed with the information they supply, invite them to make a listing presentation.
It’s always a good practice to meet with more than one potential agent before making a final decision – usually three to five for sellers.
Just make sure that you don’t meet with more than one form the same company. This could cause internal strife which would be counterproductive in marketing your home.
