It’s the dog days of August around Lake Keowee and it’s hot and humid in the south. Go out and work on anything for about 5 minutes and you’ll have a perspiration sheen to put it mildly. The perfect time of year to be enjoying Lake Keowee! August fun in the sun will give way to September fun in the sun which will give way to October fun watching the leaves change and the temperatures cool. I’d like to say it will lead to a normal college football season, but no.
Many folks are still out and about looking for a Keowee address to call their own. Unfortunately a lot of sellers are begin stingy. It is a great time to think about putting your Lake Keowee home on the market and taking advantage of the low inventory in several price categories. As for you lot sellers, the pickens are slimming as well. If you have a lot and are thinking about using that money for something else, now is the time to explore the options in detail.
We can help! We’d love to add some inventory to our inventory and work to get your home or lot in front of as many eyes as possible! The drone is ready to fly, the 360 degree camera is ready to…take pictures, etc. Don’t delay call or email us today! [email protected] or [email protected] .
Unless your home is in mint condition or you’re selling it as a “fixer-upper,” there’s probably a long list of repair or remodeling projects to consider. These can range from relatively simple jobs, such as painting a bathroom, to more complex room-addition or remodeling projects.
In considering any home improvement project, you need to ask yourself a couple of questions: Why are you doing it? Is it work that really needs to be done – a paint job or replacing a leaky roof? Or is it an amenity you’d like that you think might appeal to a potential buyer – a hot tub or home office addition, for example. Will it add value to your home, or have no impact at all? Or will it make your home more difficult to sell?
Some investments – like painting and yard work – involve relatively little cash outlay and yet return many times your cost. Other improvements that you think add value have no significant impact. Adding a swimming pool is a good example. Besides that hassles of maintenance, a pool can reduce your home’s appeal among families with small children because of safety concerns.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources this week to emphasize boater safety, especially in the evening hours when vessels are harder to see. Patrols from now through Saturday will focus on prevention and education, according to the sheriff’s office. (Special to The Journal)
