Same Old Fall Colors Story
Remember last week when I waxed melancholy of not getting my peak colors fix? Well, this week isn’t helping and the waxing shall ne’er be alleviated. Wax on! Temperatures are in the 40’s and it’s raining like a CCR song. At least this past weekend was glorious. We’re hitting on a two out of 7 day clip at the moment. I’m more for the days of rain and clear skies being reversed. At this point though, rain seems a mite better than the alternative (drought). When you hear the news from California and how those folks are being devastated, it’s simply heartbreaking. Just two years ago we were dealing with drought conditions and a wildfire. It came within a couple of miles of our property and could have easily rolled right over us had it not been for a light night rain that came out of nowhere. Keep those folks in your thoughts and prayers. They need all of the help they can get.
I know you are dying to hear how business is going. Well, I’m not going to tell you (I’ll tell you next week as you probably needed a break). Who am I kidding? I can’t not talk about business! Suffice to say, it remains pretty dang good, especially for this time of year. The rain has hampered the number of tours but that’s what rain does. It sucks the joy out of our business. We do, however, have a couple of tours scheduled for this week as folks are gearing up for Thanksgiving travel. Keep your fingers crossed that we can help those folks become new Lake Keowee owners.
Remember to enjoy those beautiful fall days when do they come around. You never know when the next one will rear its beautiful head. And find ways to appreciate the cold and rainy days, as well. Everything has a purpose. There are always projects that need to be completed that those types of days can be exactly what’s needed. I, of course, am speaking to myself. Yeah, I really want to clean out the garage – perfect day for it….not really. Much rather be enjoying crystal clear days and great Fall Colors.
