Tough Time for the Coast

Tough Time for the Coast

Sep 19, 2018 | Posted by matt | Uncategorized |

For all of you folks who read our Blog from the NC and SC coastal areas, we hope everything is as good as it can be, stick together and work with/for each other as you pull through this difficult time. We are all thinking of you and hopefully giving a bit of money to help the clean-up/rebuilding effort along. A tough thing to go through.

Here in the upstate we experienced a very limited version of what the coast got. Rain and winds were really no worse than any other normal storm we get from time to time. There is some debris (sticks and leaves) around, but nothing that can’t be cleaned up fairly quickly with minimal effort. We suspect the workload ahead of you is a bit more substantial and for that we salute you. It’d be tough to be in your position.

As for business, as usual a hurricane had an effect. Most recently we lost 2 deals and another was delayed (hopefully) due to the destruction wrought by Florence. Over the years we’ve lost several deals from storms going through Florida and the SC/NC coast. I’m sure we all realize how much these storms affect us all, but it never really hits home fully until it hits the pocket book.

As always, we’re going to look at the bright side. The sun is currently shining and it’s going to be a beautiful day and extra beautiful fall is well within our sights! We are in the process of writing up two deals and will be taking out three tours this very weekend. We also have several of our properties with showings already set up. Summer may be over but the selling season certainly is not.

Folks are looking to take advantage of the strong economy and the relatively low lake property prices. So if you are considering selling your Lake Keowee property, stop considering and start doing. The buyer you need could be waiting for just your property. If you are considering buying, we’ve got some great ones to show you! Let’s talk! It doesn’t have to be tough.

29 Essential Tips That Get Homes Sold Fast (And For Top Dollar)
Tip #19, Know your buyer.
In the negotiation process, your objective is to control the pace and set the duration. And the better yoyu know your buyer, the more easily you can maintain control.
As a rule, buyers want the best property they can afford for the least amount of money. But knowing specifically what motivates your buyer enables you to negotiate more effectively. Maybe your buyer needs to move quickly. Or the maximum amount he can spend is just a little below your asking price. Knowing this information puts you in a better bargaining position.

SENECA – Hurricane Florence’s impact wasn’t much more than some light rain and a few power outages in Oconee County.
“For Duke Energy customers in Oconee County, there was almost no impacat from Hurricane Florence,” Duke Energy corporate communications consultant Mikayla Kreuzberger wrote in an email. “There were only a handful of outages that may or may not have been storm-related.”
