The Lake Keowee real estate market has been a little whipsaw the past couple of weeks as we’ve enjoyed periods of fevered activity followed by opportunities to get long put off projects completed. The uncertainty seems to be due to interest rate hikes though there are still plenty of folks anxious to buy Lake Keowee real estate, making it still a great time for you sellers.
We were able to put two more lots under contract over the past week. Both are interior properties in Lake Keowee communities. That is an excellent option for folks who don’t want to break the bank for a Lake Keowee waterfront home. You can spend more money on the home, less on the lot and still have a boat on the water to use at your leisure, just have to take a golf cart ride to get there, but there are already plenty of Lake Keowee waterfront homes where the owners have been doing just that.
Our hope is things will remain strong, though it will be nice to see a little bit of evening out between buyers and sellers. It will happen eventually, just can’t predict when. Call us and let’s look at what we can do for you!
How to Sell Your Home For The Highest Price Possible
Here’s how to avoid mistakes that could cost hundreds, even thousands of dollars, when you sell your home.
The old notion of caveat emptor – “buyer beware” – has been turned on its head. Lately, with all of the talk about “buyers’ markets” and “changing real estate values,” as well as the myriad complexities and legal ramifications of today’s real estate transaction, a more appropriate sentiment may be “seller beware.”
Understand Disclosure Laws and What Inspections You Will Need
In addition to having your home appraised for market value, you will also be required to have your home inspected at least twice: once for structural problems and again for termites.
During the past decade, legal rulings have made it clear that sellers and their brokers must not only make purchasers aware of known problems and defects with the property, but they must also…
“…conduct a reasonably competent and diligent inspection of the residential property listed for sale and to disclose…all facts materially affecting the value or desirability of the property that such an investigation would reveal.”
So not only is it important to be completely up front about problems you’re aware of, but even what you don’t know can hurt you.
Your Realtor can help you find the right qualified inspectors to investigate all the structures and systems of your home.
