As expected in July, around Lake Keowee, there is a lot of interest in purchasing waterfront real estate. Many folks are excited to find that perfect home or water front Lake Keowee lot. Right now it appears more folks are excited about keeping their Lake Keowee home or waterfront lot. The number of Lake Keowee waterfront homes for sale is currently 67 including 35 outside of the golf course communities.
With the COVID-19 virus has come a run on Keowee waterfront property. Many are looking for a place to get away from cramped quarters and spikes of infections and instead find a safer, more peaceful lifestyle. Infection rates in Oconee County currently sit at 570 confirmed cases with 3,501 estimated cases out of a population of 80,248 or .7% confirmed to have the virus. Infection rates in Pickens County are at 1428 confirmed cases with 8772 estimated cases out of a population of 127,437 or 1.1% of the population confirmed to have the virus. Not trying to fan the flames of fear, just sharing CDC numbers. It is what it be.
On to business: we were able to cobble together 5 deals this past week with Lake Keowee waterfront homes and 3 Lake Keowee waterfront lots. We put in offers on two other homes, but were beaten out by others who were willing to pay a bit more. Of course I’m not complaining. Any week with $2,696,000 in volume is a good one, even if it is one of the 3 busiest weeks of the year.
