STILL Warm!
Fun-filled weekend on Lakes Keowee and Jocassee this weekend as temperatures climbed back up into the low 80’s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Talk about extending the Lake Keowee season (jealous much?)! I’m sure we put at least an extra 12 hours of run time on the boat and jet skis. Needless to say (I guess I shouldn’t say it then… but I need to say it so scratch the beginning of this sentence) the kids had a fantastic time skiing, tubing and otherwise frolicking on the shores of Lake Keowee. Heck, even the Cliffs beach club was open on Saturday,,,and it’s NOVEMBER!! This coming weekend looks to have more seasonal type temperatures with highs climbing only to the mid 70’s on Saturday, brrrrrrrrr. Perfect for a home game at Clemson vs. the Syracuse Orangemen who are far more accustomed to much lower temperatures (but not on the field as they play in a dome that has no AC). Yep, calling for another Chamber of Commerce weekend for the Lake Keowee and Jocassee area. Don’t you dare miss it!
Not such a great week for business, though. One contract we had fell out and another offer we were working on didn’t quite pan out. But there’s always a bright side as we are in the process of adding a new home listing as well as a lot listing. Good week / bad week, no matter; we keep pushing!
Also, there was another liquidation sale that occurred over the weekend adding even more lot inventory (which we don’t need). Not such good news for you sellers, but great news for you lot buyers. All of these liquidation sales are really driving down lot prices and keeping a lid on them. Right now you can buy a waterfront lot on Lake Keowee for the same kind of price as we saw back in the early 2000’s. Take advantage now or kick yourself later! As for houses, not so rosy for you buyers as inventory in the lower ranges continues to tighten up. As we’ve said so many times before, the winter is a fantastic time to buy Lake Keowee real estate!
