Keowee Expert Blog Christmas Week!
Wow, Christmas is coming on quickly around Lake Keowee. For us it’s been an extraordinarily busy year. And Christmas week is not an exception. We’re working on a contract for a Lake Keowee waterfront lot and trying to get another in place for one of our most recent Lake Keowee waterfront homes. Thank goodness for cell phones, scanners, computers and remote access.
When we first starting selling Lake Keowee real estate back in the early 90’s all we had was a one page contract for unimproved properties, a DOS based computer and a large topographical display of the north end of Lake Keowee. Oh, and a landline telephone and some “long range” walkie-talkies. If you weren’t in the office or within a few hundred yards you were incommunicado. That led to many a day waiting for the phone to ring or someone to drive by looking for information.
What a change the last 30 years have made. Now we can show people aerial videos and video walk-throughs, write contracts, get them signed and delivered to the attorney all from our phones. So now when we’re “off”, we’re not off but we can be somewhere fun and be “on”. Like yesterday when we were at the Clemson v. Morehead State basketball (nice win Tigers!) game waiting on a reply to a counter offer. Couldn’t have done that in 1991.
