It doesn’t feel like fall around Lake Keowee anymore. It’s cold outside or at least what passes for cold in our area with a high temperature of 45 degrees today and a low in the TWENTIES (and yes I’m yelling that – please don’t be offended). The saving grace is the leaves are still breathtaking and of course the temperatures will come back up. I can almost guarantee we’ll have a few more of days in the high 70’s before we hunker down for winter proper. 

I know what you’re asking yourself, “Will the lower temperatures and less sunlight put a damper on the Lake Keowee real estate market?” The answer is YES! (sorry, more yelling). They always do, but to varying degrees. This year so far things have been good with lots of activity on houses despite the lower inventory. Lots are still lagging though we have been able to put two under contract this past week. We were also able to put a million dollar home under contract. That’s good stuff for November, or for any month! Hopefully, that means we’ll have a better than average winter, as well.

The white flag was up Tuesday outside Our Daily Rest, signaling the shelter had limited room available overnight for people to get out of what officials said would be the coldest morning of the fall season. Our Daily Rest provides space when the temperatures are expected to drop to 36 or below. Tuesday was the fourth time the flag had been out this fall.
