I remember those being the looognest weeks of my life (other than the weeks before Christmas, my birthday, football season, baseball season, spring break, hunting season, fishing season, you get the idea…I wasn’t a “patient” kid). Clemson University has already started summer session so that means…? The Lake Keowee real estate selling season is upon us! For our company it’s actually been upon us all year – you remember all of he busy comments, right? In that busy vain, we’ve been able to ink yet another three deals over the past week totaling $1,400,000. Bringing us up to $8,000,000 already closed on 23 sides and another $4,100,000 to close on 12 sides.
That is a banner start to 2015 and we are beginning to see fewer homes available in the lower price categories. There is still plenty of inventory, but fewer choices. On the lot front, things are still difficult and we are now up to 444 waterfront lots available on Lake Keowee, we expect to see (and it’s on track for) a total of 135 to 150 waterfront lots to sell for the year. If you just did the math that means about 300 lots currently on the market will not get sold. Buyers, I hope your ears just perked up, sellers I know, end the pain! As I’ve been fond of saying for the last several years, it is what it is so let’s make the best of it. Look at your competition, do what you can to stand out in comparison and be patient.
