Last Day of Summer!
Officially summer ended yesterday and man did that whole season fly by! But now that I think about it, I can’t remember the last season that lasted more than about a week. Oh, to be a punk kid again. One of the great things about living around here is that it will feel like summer for at least 2 more months and that means there’s still plenty of time this year to get out on Lakes Keowee and Jocassee. In fact, we’ve got a Kid’s Day at our Lake Keowee home planned for Saturday. We’re going to have my son & daughter’s friends come out for a shindig that will include jet skis, boat rides, tubing, skiing, swimming, food, games and more fun than should be allowed by state law. It’ll be a great way to celebrate Clemson’s win over Georgia Tech and prepare for the biggest game of the year in Clemson coming up the following weekend (Clemson #3 vs. Louisville #4 – ESPN’s College Gameday and that it entails – naturally assuming our Tigers take care of the Jackets this Thursday).
How’s business? Well it’s cooled off a bit along with the temperatures. Over the last couple of weeks, fewer properties have gone under contract. The good news for us is we’ve been able to put one lot under contract and are getting a really primo house listing that will hit the market next week. No rest for the Top Guns (thank goodness!). Still plenty of chances to get your properties sold, just not as many as during the summer. It will be interesting to see how the presidential election will affect everything, so far it seems to be perching some folks squarely on the fence. Can’t wait for this whole sad passionless play to be done!
