Lake Keowee Real Estate Expert A Whole Lotta Cold
I hate to keep talking about the weather around Lake Keowee every week, but it’s gotta be done. Kind of like ripping off a band-aid. The weather influences our Lake Keowee Real Estate business so much that we simply must address its effects. If it’s sunny and beautiful more property sells. If it’s cold and rainy (or as is currently the case snowing), property sells because folks are planning for the sunny and beautiful days. The good news is there are people (very smart people with big brains and low cholesterol I might add) planning ahead as you wouldn’t want to go out on Lake Keowee or Lake Jocassee today unless you were wearing your best snow skiing outfit – with a parka over it and maybe some extra thermal underwear on underneath. Long story short, it’s cold out there. Still beautifully snow covered, but cold.
How has this affected business? Seems not much at all as we had 5 of our house listings shown over the past couple of days as well as taking out a couple of tours ourselves did have a cancellation today due to road conditions as we are not used to snow events. We are talking with 3 folks about getting their property listed, as well. Heck we even closed some $1,245,000 in Lake Keowee waterfront property last week. “Them’s summertime numbers!” as my Pappy would say (I really don’t have a “Pappy”, I just enjoy employing folksy colloquialisms whenever possible).
We’re hopeful that we’ll get all of these properties under contract soon, we know we will eventually, it’s just sometimes hard to be patient. We’ll continue to do the “inside” things that are necessary to get our listings in front of as many eyes as possible and as soon as the warm comes out we’ll hit the “outside” stuff as well!
Seller’s, I can’t emphasize this enough, take advantage of this time of year to get your property looking right. Get everything fixed. Get your lot under-brushed. Folks who do these things are slower this time of year, but that won’t last long! The time…she passes!
