What Comes Around…
…comes around again. Wait, maybe that’s not quite how the saying goes but you get the drift, I’m sure. Remember when the economy was good? Remember when we were saying the same thing 15 years ago, and 30 years ago, etc, etc ad infinitum? Here’s a snippet of financial publications from the last 5 days: Thought the economy was tanking? Not So Fast, Consumers expected to buy more for holidays, Pickens lands another one!, Retail sales rose strongly in September, Default rate falls steadily as companies stabilize finances, Kemet factory to serve electric vehicle makers (new $34.1 MILLION plant), and Honeywell to grow in Greer. It won’t be long before we all saying “Remember when the economy was so bad?”
As for Lake Keowee Real Estate, things have been quicker. Most folks seem more concerned about getting their tailgating spread out properly because maybe it’s not the sexiest time to buy, but it sure is one of the best times I’ve ever seen! You smarter folks need to know this; great deals abound and interest rates are around 4%! Reminds me of my father’s lament, “I could have bought that acreage for $1000.” To which I always respond, “Why didn’t you?” To which he retorts, “I didn’t have the money.” To which I respond, “Well then I guess you really couldn’t have bought it for $1000 per acre.” I’ve found that often times my father doesn’t appreciate my humor. To wit, he used to wear a mood ring that turned blue when he was in good spirits and when he was feeling otherwise it left a red mark on my forehead.
