Wain Wain Go Away…
…come agin anuvah day! That’s a favorite ditty of my 4 year old. He started up with it earlier today and I stifled him…no, not with the duct tape again but I told him that this time “we really need da wain right now!” It seems like it hasn’t rained around her since Moses was a Private in Isreal’s Infantry. The current lake levels are 96 feet for Lake Keowee (3 feet below target), Lake Jocassee 77.9 feet (21.6 feet below target) and Lake Hartwell 652.18 feet (7.82 feet below target). Lake Keowee has been down 3-5 feet since the beginning of summer as they have been doing extensive maintenance on the nuclear power facility. Hopes are the repairs will be completed and we can be back to normal maintenance schedules by next spring. The inch of rain we are receiving currently will help the levels, but the rain needs to continue throughout the winter to get us back in good shape, and keep us away from another drought situation.
As for real estate, we’ve closed another property this week and plan to close a couple more next week. Also, we have been able to write up two more small bank owned deals during the week. We’ve had several inquiries over the past few days, too. They were some friendly folks looking for information on relocating to our area. Fortunately for us, it’s one of the best places in the world to live! Don’t believe me? Move in with me for a week. My son will teach you some new songs!
