How’s business? Very good. Thanks for asking. It’s been an above average November and looks to be a good December. We closed on a couple of properties over the past week and put another Lake Keowee waterfront real estate lot under contract. We’ve also been out to a few more potential listings that we expect to get on the market soon.

Folks are less likely to go out for a day on Lake Keowee currently. There are plenty of those die-hard fishermen out there doing their best impression of Nanook of the North (it’s amazing what clothing manufacturers can do with modern fabrics to keep us warm), but very few folks are just cruising around for the giggles. There will be some of that in a couple of weeks as we will have a few communities doing their annual Christmas lights on your boat show. Those are fun to watch from the shore, a little more taxing from the water (see Arctic literary character reference above), but fun for folks who are willing to go the extra mile in extending the Christmas spirit.

Finally, we are going to get some nice cold weather around Lake Keowee. Over the next few days, the weatherman is calling for highs in the 50’s with some frost warnings at night. Lookout, we might be heading deep into a southern winter. In a month or so we might even have a freeze warning. Probably too much to ask for a white Christmas. But let’s do it anyway. Please, Old Man Winter, give us a white Christmas (just for a day – not real big on long snow events, we just want to borrow some snow for a little while).

The views around Lake Keowee are absolutely stunning this time of year. The air is crisp and the leaves are going into full-on exquisite mode. The change in air temperature has also led to the lake fog effect giving us those gorgeous Lake Keowee mornings with thick mist dancing on the water. Just have to love this time of year!

Even though it’s still warm around Lake Keowee we are starting to see the first hints of the colors to come (and the warm days are turning into cooler nights, which is nice). We are seeing spectacular, clear blue skies days making it the perfect time to get out on Lake Keowee and enjoy the last vestiges of the 2023 Lake Keowee season (who knows, you might even want to purchase your own place to take advantage of the fall colors and have a great place to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas or sell what you’ve got since you won’t get out as much over the winter).

We get a Lake Keowee listing, we get it sold. Quickly. How quickly? There…that quickly. That’s been the theme lately. The fast turn-around time on listings of Lake Keowee property has led to a great situation for you potential sellers. Let’s say you’ve been sitting on that Lake Keowee waterfront lot (or interior with boat slip) for years, hoping to do something with it but never finding the time. Well, maybe now is the time to turn it around quickly and get maximum dollars before the end of 2023 and the presidential election year of 2024. For the most part, the inventory of good Lake Keowee waterfront property has been lower than the demand that currently exists. We still get listings that go under contract within days of hitting the market. Seems like that has been the norm for years now (at least since the first few months of Covid). Though, that is not what “normal” will be forever. The point being that you potential sellers need to sell while the selling is good. Buyers, just keep on keeping on. Hot summer days on Lake Keowee. Is there anywhere else you’d rather be? The ocean? No, too salty. The mountains? Too bumpy. A field in the middle of Kansas? Too Toto and Dorothy. Lake Keowee is the perfect place to be this time of year to keep cool and turn hot days into great fun. In a fit of insanity, I decided to bush hog some property around noon yesterday. After an hour I realized this is better done in the early morning or late afternoon or even never. Fortunately, I was able to cool off in Keowee once I was done and it made everything all the better.
