Finally, we are going to get some nice cold weather around Lake Keowee. Over the next few days, the weatherman is calling for highs in the 50’s with some frost warnings at night. Lookout, we might be heading deep into a southern winter. In a month or so we might even have a freeze warning. Probably too much to ask for a white Christmas. But let’s do it anyway. Please, Old Man Winter, give us a white Christmas (just for a day – not real big on long snow events, we just want to borrow some snow for a little while).

The bad news is we only have a couple of new listings to take pictures of. Everything is lining up except you fence sitters. The views around Lake Keowee are absolutely stunning this time of year. The air is crisp and the leaves are going into full-on exquisite mode. Even though it’s still warm around Lake Keowee we are starting to see the first hints of the colors to come (and the warm days are turning into cooler nights, which is nice). We are seeing spectacular, clear blue skies days making it the perfect time to get out on Lake Keowee and enjoy the last vestiges of the 2023 Lake Keowee season (who knows, you might even want to purchase your own place to take advantage of the fall colors and have a great place to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas or sell what you’ve got since you won’t get out as much over the winter).

We are hopeful that business will continue as it has over this entire year. We’re looking at closing over $1M in Lake Keowee lots over the remainder of the week. After that things get a bit slower as the inventory remains lower than the number of perspective buyers. Around Lake Keowee there is a new level of excitement as we enter the football season. The of the really great things about Lake Keowee being so close to Clemson University is you can tailgate on the Lake for pregame then head to your (or your friend’s) tailgate spot at the stadium! You can also rent out your home for a pretty penny on those days if you are in a community that allows such. There aren’t that many houses that fit that bill but luckily, we have one that does! For the most part, the inventory of good Lake Keowee waterfront property has been lower than the demand that currently exists. We still get listings that go under contract within days of hitting the market. Seems like that has been the norm for years now (at least since the first few months of Covid). Though, that is not what “normal” will be forever. The point being that you potential sellers need to sell while the selling is good. Buyers, just keep on keeping on. Hot summer days on Lake Keowee. Is there anywhere else you’d rather be? The ocean? No, too salty. The mountains? Too bumpy. A field in the middle of Kansas? Too Toto and Dorothy. Lake Keowee is the perfect place to be this time of year to keep cool and turn hot days into great fun. In a fit of insanity, I decided to bush hog some property around noon yesterday. After an hour I realized this is better done in the early morning or late afternoon or even never. Fortunately, I was able to cool off in Keowee once I was done and it made everything all the better.
