Dropped off the 5-year-old for kindergarten (or kinnygarden if you’re a slow talker) this morning. He was a little easier to let go of than when I took my daughter two years ago. She’s old school now, 2nd grade, gettin’ into real and actual book learnin’. Maybe I’m the slow talker…but truthfully, it was just yesterday we were coming home from the hospital with them. I’m sure many of you can relate.

So what does that have to do with Lake Keowee Real Estate? Mostly it signals a slowdown as the summer of 2012 is officially in the books. Currently the numbers remain comfortably ahead of 2011 and we should, barring any unforeseen fluke-nstances, finish the year out that way. As for us, it’s been a good week. We’ve been able to put another house under contract and add a few more good listings. Buyers who enter the market now are typically more serious about making a buying decision. Good news even if there will be fewer overall buyers until next summer. So now we’re emphasizing quality over quantity.

If you’re a buyer, now is the time. You won’t see interest rates this low again in your lifetime. I swear this to be true. If you’re a seller, make it shine!
