Rain!!
It’s finally here, rain. As most of you are aware, we here around Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee have been without the wet stuff for over 2 months. And when I say without I really mean without, bone dry, coughing dust, me at the beach after I saw the movie Jaws as a kid…you know, dry. I believe we were at about 75 days with almost no recorded rainfall at the local airport. That’s dry, dryer than Hawkeye Pierce’s martini dry, which leads to threat of wildfire and unless you’ve been under a rock for the last month is what we’ve been threatened by throughout the area. The biggest issue with the wildfires for most of us around Lake Keowee has been the smoke and haze. Fortunately the 2 plus inches of rain forecast over the next few days should go a long way towards putting the local blazes out, at least in our area. Now just pray the folks in Tennessee and other locations around the country get plenty of rain as well.
On to business. We were active over the past few weeks even with the Thanksgiving break, setting up a couple of new listings that we plan on getting on the market over the next few days as well as closing a house and lot, while putting yet another house under contract. Not bad for the slow season. It will be a good December with us expecting to close around $2,000,000 in real estate.
We are gearing up for 2017 with a complete revamp of our Web sites, no less information mind you, just better and more modern looking with improved compatibility over all of your devices (phones, tablets, computers, etc.). This will also help us with our organic search and give us the ability to do much more and specifically target folks interested in Lake Keowee real estate. Stay Tuned!
For you Gamecocks, I appreciate how good your football team was a few years back and how much of a fire that lit under the Clemson powers that be to improve the product on the field. Without you whipping our tails 5 years in a row I don’t believe the push would have been there to achieve what the Tigers have achieved to date (hopefully to soon add another national championship). I must admit it is fun when your team is on top! Go Tigers!!!!
