It’s been The Week of the Lots. There’s a new subdivision that opened up over the weekend. They were touting ‘5 acre subdividable lakefront estate for $39,900″ and “Dockable Lakefront Liquidation” and “3 Acre Lakefront only $29,900.” Impressive pull! (More like impressive bull). They even gave potential buyers the impression that you could get a “New Lakefront Estate w/ 2000 sq ft Home Package for only $99,900.” If you think you can get a waterfront home on Keowee for only $99,900 (fill in any comparison of your choice). Next to that description they have a picture of a home – from some other lake – that at the minimum would be $1,000,0000. To me that’s the old bait n’ switch. The good news for us is their opening and advertising led to 3 possibly 4 sales of other lots on the lake that are – in my humble yet educated opinion – much better deals.
How was the week? See above. We were able to put 5 maybe (cross your fingers) 6 lots under contract. That’s a big week especially since it’s after the 4th of July. We’ve also added some incredible waterfront lots to our inventory. I love these because they are some of the best on the Lake.
