The great news is the views are opening and you can get a much better idea of the overall look of a Lake Keowee piece of land or home with those pesky leaves on the ground instead of in the trees. We’ve listed a few spectacular lots over the couple of weeks and they are begging for you buyers to come out and see them in their leafless glory. Check out Lot 56 Point Harbor, Lot 5 Laurel Ridge, and Lot 6 Laurel Ridge. We also have a couple of houses we hope to get on the market soon, probably sometime soon after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Finally, we are going to get some nice cold weather around Lake Keowee. Over the next few days, the weatherman is calling for highs in the 50’s with some frost warnings at night. Lookout, we might be heading deep into a southern winter. In a month or so we might even have a freeze warning. Probably too much to ask for a white Christmas. But let’s do it anyway. Please, Old Man Winter, give us a white Christmas (just for a day – not real big on long snow events, we just want to borrow some snow for a little while).

The views around Lake Keowee are absolutely stunning this time of year. The air is crisp and the leaves are going into full-on exquisite mode. The change in air temperature has also led to the lake fog effect giving us those gorgeous Lake Keowee mornings with thick mist dancing on the water. Just have to love this time of year!

Even though it’s still warm around Lake Keowee we are starting to see the first hints of the colors to come (and the warm days are turning into cooler nights, which is nice). We are seeing spectacular, clear blue skies days making it the perfect time to get out on Lake Keowee and enjoy the last vestiges of the 2023 Lake Keowee season (who knows, you might even want to purchase your own place to take advantage of the fall colors and have a great place to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas or sell what you’ve got since you won’t get out as much over the winter).

I just spoke with a mortgage banker. Did you know that the mortgage rate for a 30-year fixed loan is approaching 8% (that’s an example of a “economic headwind”)? In most markets that is going to spell a real slowdown in home sales. In the Lake Keowee real estate market, we still don’t have enough inventory to satisfy the buyers. You potential Lake Keowee waterfront sellers need to think long and hard about putting your property on the market to take advantage of the situation before the worm turns.

We are hopeful that business will continue as it has over this entire year. We’re looking at closing over $1M in Lake Keowee lots over the remainder of the week. After that things get a bit slower as the inventory remains lower than the number of perspective buyers. It’s still a great time for you potential sellers and if history is any indicator, folks love to look at Lake Keowee real estate in the fall. The views begin to open and you can walk up and down multiple properties without having to change your shirt.
