OHC to hold Railroad Day
WALHALLA – On Saturday, the Oconee Heritage Center will be celebrating all things trains at Railroad Day.
Along with this celebration of trains, it will be highlighting the release of the new children’s book “Adventures on the blue Ridge Rail Road with Engineer Smith and Khloe” by local author Frankie Johnson.
“Along with a story-time featurijng this book, we will be making train crafts, exploring the history of trains in our area, and much more,” OHC assistant curator Jennifer Moss said. “We get a lot of children that adore trains and we thought that a day celebrating trains would go right along with the release of this wonderful new children’s book about the Blue Ridge Railroad.”
“Adventures on the Blue Ridge Rail Road with Engineer Smith and Khloe,” along with ta companion coloring book., will be available for purchase at Railroad Day. Oconee Heritage Center will stock the book and coloring book in the museum’s gift shop.
Railroad Day will take place Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the Oconee Heritage Center, located at 123 Browns Square Drive in Walhalla.
