First Thursday at the Market to take place today in Clemson
By Greg Oliver – CLEMSON – More than 30 vendors offering fresh, locally grown produce will be featured at First Thursday at the Market from 3-6 p.m. today at the Patrick Square Village Green on Issaqueena Trail. The market, which is held rain or shine with all free activities, will feature vendor offerings that include grass-fee beef, heritage pork and fresh seafood, local honey, farm-fresh eggs, jams and jellies, olive oil, dips and salsa, fresh-baked cinnamon rolls, cookies and cakes, boiled peanuts, and artisan crafts.
Vendors demonstrations will also feature product sampling and information, music featuring DJ Twon Austin, cooking demonstrations, tastings and recipes from the Mindful Cooking Club and the sale for hot dogs , chips and water.
“First Friday at the Market events are designed to bring the market and Clemson-area community together for great, locally grown and produced products, healthy cooking demos, live music, product demos and information,” market manager Kathi Dimmock said. “fulfills our mission for people to eat healthy.”
Dimmock said information about unique businesses, restaurants, special events and activities and shopping in the Upsate will be available, two electric vehicles will be on display and tourism representatives will also share information and ideas about places to visit and things to do in the area.
