Lazy, Crazy Days of Summer
You’ve gotta love this time of year, you just gotta! Days that last like 30 hours and end with breathtaking sunsets. I’ve been able to enjoy more than my share of all these things this summer. After taking some folks around Lake Keowee viewing homes on Sunday, I met my family at the Cliffs at Keowee Beach Club and spent from 5-7 in maxed-out ultra chill mode. It…was…AWESOME! The reality is there are many more beautiful spots in and around Lake Keowee. That’s what brings people here by the truckload. I sold some really nice folks property a few months back, they were from up north and had a place on a mountain lake up there. They said the clincher that brought them to Lake Keowee was that Keowee looks like their beautiful mountain lake, but we can actually spend a lot more time swimming and boating due to the long springs and warmer falls in our area; we have the best of all worlds!
As for real estate, it’s been quite a while since we’ve had a day off. That’s good news for the real estate market around Lake Keowee and Jocassee. Not so great for our families, but we’ll certainly make up for it during the Christmas holidays. We’ve had another fruitful week writing up writing up SIX offers. Of those we’ve been able to turn 3 into contracts so far and are optimistic that we can work something out for the other three.
The majority of the activity has been in the $130,000 – $250,000 lots and the $400,000 to $600,000 houses. There continues to remain a post “Great Recession” lull in the homes above $800,000 with those numbers remaining weak. But it’s only a matter of time that boat rights itself. So if you’re looking for a great deal in that price range, now’s the time!
