Wilson-Clary House
The Wilson-Clary House, also known as the Crisp House, is a historic residence located at 120 Irby Avenue in Laurens, South Carolina. Built around 1892 for J.J. Wilson Jr. and Toccoa Irby Wilson, this two-story frame house exemplifies vernacular Victorian architecture with notable Eastlake influences.
Exterior: The house features a cross-gable roof with two brick chimneys. A distinctive wraparound porch includes a tent-roofed gazebo at its corner, and the windows are adorned with pedimented surrounds.
Interior: Inside, the residence boasts ceiling medallions, a marble mantel, and an elaborate staircase, all characteristic of the Eastlake style.
In recognition of its architectural significance, the Wilson-Clary House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 11, 1986.
The house remains a private residence and is not generally open to the public.
