Snyder House at Wofford College
The Snyder House at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, is a historic building constructed in 1854. It is named after Dr. Henry Nelson Snyder, who served as the college’s president from 1902 to 1942. Dr. Snyder was instrumental in enhancing the college’s academic reputation, overseeing the construction of the first science building and library, achieving accreditation, establishing the first ROTC unit, and securing a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Today, the Snyder House houses the Business Office of Wofford College, which manages financial matters such as student billing, tuition payments, and accounts payable . The building is located at 429 North Church Street, within the Wofford College Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
