“Mi Casa”
“Mi Casa” in Pendleton, South Carolina, refers to a historic residence built around 1830 by Dr. James Stuart of Beaufort. Over the years, it has been known by various names, including Friendville, Dunean, and Belvedere. The name “Mi Casa,” meaning “my house” in Spanish, was given by the widowed Mrs. John C. Calhoun when she purchased the property. This site is featured as Site #34 on the Pendleton Historic Walking Tour.
