The McCormick Train Station, also known as the Charleston & Western Carolina Railway Depot, is a historic landmark located in McCormick, South Carolina. Constructed around 1911 by the Charleston & Western Carolina Railway, this one-story, rectangular frame building features a gable roof with wide eaves supported by brackets and traditional shiplap siding.

• First Depot (1882): Established by the Greenwood and Augusta Railroad with support from Cyrus McCormick, the town’s namesake and a notable industrialist. ​
• Second Depot (circa 1900): Constructed by the Charleston and Western Carolina Railroad to replace the original structure. ​
• Current Depot (circa 1911): Built to accommodate the growing demands of rail traffic in the early 20th century. ​

The station played a pivotal role in McCormick’s development, serving as a central hub for passengers and facilitating the shipment of local commodities such as timber and cotton. At its peak, the depot accommodated up to eight passenger trains daily.

Today, the McCormick Train Station houses the South Carolina Wilds Heritage Center, an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of quilts and their connection to the Underground Railroad, along with other artifacts related to African and African American history.
