Former U.S. Post Office – Union SC
The former U.S. Post Office in Union, South Carolina, is a notable historic building located at 130 West Main Street, at the corner of Herndon Street. Constructed in 1912, it was designed under the supervision of James Knox Taylor, the Supervising Architect of the U.S. Treasury at that time. The building showcases Neoclassical architectural elements, including a raised basement, a truncated hipped roof, and a decorative brick parapet.
Originally serving as Union’s main post office until 1965, the building was subsequently repurposed as a federal office space. Today, it functions as the district office for Union County Schools.
