EastWind Castle
EastWind Castle is a unique, immersive medieval-themed venue located in Trenton, South Carolina, just off I-20 in Aiken County. Spanning 25 acres, it features a handcrafted castle and a medieval village, serving as a hub for live-action role-playing (LARP), historical reenactments, themed weddings, and family-friendly events.
Established in 2008 by Sherman and Donna Gills, EastWind Castle offers a setting where visitors can engage in various activities, including:
- LARPing and Combat Sports: Hosting groups like the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), Daggerhere, and Amtgard, the venue accommodates a range of combat styles from foam fighting to live steel battles.
- Themed Events: Events such as Nukelanta, a post-apocalyptic game inspired by the Fallout series, combine airsoft, Nerf, and foam weaponry for immersive experiences.
- Community Gatherings: The castle grounds are also used for weddings, dances, glow-in-the-dark Easter egg hunts, and other community-centric activities.
The environment is designed to be welcoming and inclusive, encouraging participants to express themselves freely in a judgment-free space.
