Dr John Glenn House
The Dr. John Glenn House, also known as Fair View Plantation, is a historic residence located near Jenkinsville in Fairfield County, South Carolina. Constructed around 1845 by Dr. John Milton Glenn, the house exemplifies Greek Revival architecture. It is a two-story, five-bay, weather boarded frame structure with an end-gabled roof. The design features a double-pile and central-hall floor plan, complemented by a rear shed room. A notable architectural element is the two-tiered porch spanning the three central bays of the front façade, topped with a pedimented gable end.
Situated on the west side of South Carolina Highway 215, approximately three miles south of Jenkinsville, the property encompasses about 4.6 acres. Dr. Glenn acquired part of the land from the nearby High Point farm to establish the estate. The house underwent restoration, completed in 2012, and currently serves as a private residence.
Recognizing its historical and architectural significance, the Dr. John Glenn House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 6, 1984
