Central Methodist Church
Central Methodist Church, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, is a historic and prominent church with deep roots in the city’s religious and civic history. Today, it’s known as Central United Methodist Church (Central UMC), and it has been a cornerstone of the Spartanburg community for well over a century.
The Methodist community in Spartanburg formally organized a congregation around 1854, though the current sanctuary was completed in 1886.The architectural style is Gothic Revival, notable for its pointed arches, tall windows and soaring spire.
