Carwile-Huiet House
Carwile-Huiet House, located at 302 Calhoun Street in Johnston, Edgefield County, South Carolina, is a historic residence built around 1874. This one-and-a-half-story, weather boarded cottage features a gable roof and a prominent gabled portico on its facade, supported by four pillars with molded caps and pilaster responds. The central double-door entrance is adorned with sidelights and a transom, while a tripartite window graces the gable of the portico, all framed by pedimented surrounds. The windows are six-over-six sash with louvered shutters and pedimented surrounds, and the structure includes two interior brick chimneys with corbelled caps.
This house is a contributing property within the Johnston Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
