Brownlee–Huntley House
The Brownlee–Huntley House is an essential piece of Due West’s architectural heritage. From its circa 1800 origins to its mid‑19th-century adaptations, it stands as a vivid testament to local building traditions, craftsmanship, and the evolving stylistic tastes of early Upcountry South Carolina.
The Brownlee–Huntley House represents one of Due West’s earliest residential structures, standing since the early settlement era alongside other historically significant buildings. Adds historical and architectural depth to the Erskine College–Due West Historic District, illustrating residential development over nearly 150 years.
Originally built circa 1800 it is recognized as one of the town’s oldest surviving dwellings. It is located on 12 Anderson St Due West SC and is a contributing property to the Erskine College-Due West Historic District.
