The Alliance Cotton Warehouse, also known as the Farmers Alliance Cotton Warehouse, is a historic building located at 13–17 Augusta Street in Greenville, South Carolina’s West End Historic District. Constructed in 1891, this two-story brick warehouse is one of the earliest surviving cotton warehouses in the city. It features a low-pitched lateral gable roof and shares a wall and foundation with the adjacent Mills & McBrayer Cotton Warehouse. Notable architectural elements include segmental-arched windows and a corbelled brick cornice.

In the 1990s, the City of Greenville undertook a significant revitalization project, transforming the Alliance Cotton Warehouse into the West End Market. This $4.2 million redevelopment, funded through a combination of HUD Section 108 loans, tax increment financing, and private investment, converted the historic warehouse into a mixed-use facility housing shops, offices, and restaurants. The project played a pivotal role in the broader revitalization of Greenville’s West End, contributing to the area’s emergence as a vibrant arts and cultural district.

Today, the former Alliance Cotton Warehouse stands as a testament to Greenville’s rich textile history and successful urban redevelopment efforts. Its preservation and adaptive reuse exemplify the city’s commitment to honoring its industrial heritage while fostering economic growth and community engagement.
