The Union Passenger Depot is a national landmark located in the center of the Union Downtown Historic District. Built in 1902 it was situated on the main line of the Southern Railroad from Chicago to Jacksonville intersecting with the Spartanburg Columbia Railroad thus serves as a perfect image for the journey of the Depot Trail. The Depot Trail also will serve as a welcoming center for folks in Union or visitors from neighboring communities or from out of state, embarking on a fitness journey or just a safe stroll through Union.
